On 7th March 2016, I completed 5 Years in TCS!!
If it was college, I would have literally graduated in TCS and certainly on the technology I'm working in, SAP Business Intelligence.
While in college, I used to compare what I have got and what I've missed. But it was for small things, like the subjects, the books, the semesters, the practical class, the lecture, etc.
Ever since I started earning, I really don't have any sense to compare any more. Things have changed. Here we are comparing about life choices rather than petty materialized things.
What have I really gained in these 5 years?
I don't know : |
And by I don't know, I do not mean I have not gained anything, it just means that I really do not have anything on tip of the finger. I could think and come up with some jargon.
What have I missed in these 5 years? Oh! many things. but wait... I don't know.
You see the difference?! I really think I have missed many things and gained very little on the first thought. But then, each of it needs extra thoughts.
Definitely these 5 years have been the most confusing of my life ever.
I could have joined college for MTech, may be for MBA OR may be something that I liked, MSc in Cognitive Science. But I have not done any of that. Many of my friends are living that life.
I don't know in actual, but I think their life is no different than mine.
Apparently, grass is greener everywhere other than where you stand!
TCS on the other hand, had provided me with all the technical stuff to play around. I heard somewhere that I would like to quote, "If BI(SAP Business Intelligence) is an art, I'm an artist".
And yes, I can say that about me now.
There has always been ups and downs between me and TCS.
The work, the appraisals, the 9 hours office, the canteen, the colleagues, the projects, the desk, the chair, and on and on.
But who can say they are always happy? At least not the ones doing job for someone else(may be up to 3 years, not after that).
Well, I learnt many things of course. And I do believe, it is better this way. I may not have been as successful if I have chose to be something else.
However, its true, that I chose to earn first, because I wanted to taste the money, be rich! And for the same reason, I should have at least moved on. But I didn't. I'm being prepared for a ride now and I'm ready to ride along.
The extra thought I mentioned, earlier, I haven't given that. And if I do, it may take another 5 pages. And now I'm tired of writing. I will try to learn to sum up things in one page. Sorry for this time.
